1. What data we collect

When you use Lingvofy, we collect the following information:

• Account information — your name and email address when you sign up.
• Payment information — billing details (name, card information) processed securely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
• Chat logs — your conversations with AI tutors, stored so you can review your history and so the AI can maintain context across sessions.
• Vocabulary words — words you save during practice sessions.
• Usage data — lesson completions, daily streaks, and general activity to power your progress dashboard.
• Preferences — your native language, learning level, and tutor preferences.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Lingvofy service:

• To provide personalised AI tutoring and language learning experiences.
• To track your progress, streaks, and learning stats on your dashboard.
• To process subscription payments and manage your billing.
• To send transactional emails (email confirmation, password reset). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
• To improve the quality and reliability of our AI tutors over time using anonymised, aggregated usage patterns.

3. We do not sell your data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is yours. We share it only with the infrastructure providers necessary to run the service (Supabase for database, Vercel for hosting, OpenRouter for AI, Lemon Squeezy for payments).

4. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Delete your data — request complete deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Correct your data — update your name or email at any time from your account settings.
• Export your chat history — available from your dashboard.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. By using Lingvofy, you consent to the use of these essential cookies.

6. Data security

All data is stored on Supabase with row-level security enabled. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

8. Children

Lingvofy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
